Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the influenza vaccination rate, health status, and health care status in Koreans aged 20?29 years and to explore ways to improve the vaccination rate through relevant factors. This study was a secondary data analysis using tertiary data from the seventh Korean National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey collected by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. From the database, the study selected data of subjects aged 19?29 years on their general characteristics, health status, and health care status. The collected data was weighted and analyzed by applying the composite sample analysis method of the SPSS 25.0 program. The analysis of health care status among Koreans aged 20?29 years confirmed that influenza vaccination and health screening rates were low, while drinking and smoking rates were high, indicating the need for policy interest in health care. Additionally, low vaccination rates were observed among those who did not obtain adequate health care due to not buying private insurance or performing enough aerobic activity or in those who did not need medical services. Therefore, in order to improve the influenza vaccination rate among people aged 20?29 years, it is necessary to select subjects who have relatively less exposure to medical services due to having a good heath status and currently have inadequate health care practices and also to manage them by implementing active vaccination education and promotion.
